Police station sale locked up quickly

The old Geelong West police station, at 14 and 14A Albert St, sold the morning after expressions of interest closed, well in excess of $1 million.

Selling agent Tim Darcy from Darcy Jarman said that due to the number of submissions, they were able to move quickly on the sale of the residence and office building on 828sq m of land.

“We had a positive response and subsequent to that we were in a position we could move quickly with a preferred buyer,” he said.

MILLION DOLLAR MOOLAP

A MASSIVE warehouse allotment with an even greater potential has come on the market in Moolap.

The 1300sq m property at 3/151 Bellarine Hwy, Moolap is tenanted to Superior Foods and priced at $2.3 million.

Selling agent Tim Darcy from Darcy Jarman said that the property is suited to retail, semi-retail or bulky goods businesses, but ideally suited to a food-related use.

“The building area is around 1300sq m, and that area comprises a retail showroom at the front of approximately 690sq m, with the balance of the space providing warehousing and ancillary areas that incorporate the chiller room, freezer and amenities,” he said.

“There’s also a rear-access loading dock, and the complex provides generous on-site carparking – up to 96 spaces, and a zoning of Commercial 2 so there’s a lot of flexibility.”

The property is wedged between a wholesale butcher and a gym, with surrounding businesses relating to food, including fast food across the road, and a fruit and vegetable shop.

“It’s ideally suited to a food related use because of the way it’s currently set up,” Mr Darcy said.

The property is also available for lease, for $160,000, exclusive of GST, plus outgoings, and is located on the outbound side of the Bellarine Hwy.
