A STRATEGIC infill site in Highton provides an opportunity for a developer to leverage the proximity to Waurn Ponds’ Epworth Hospital and Deakin University campus.

The 5768sq m site at 148-170 Pigdons Rd, Highton has plans and permits for a 61-dwelling residential development.

The triangular block of land is the last remaining piece of the puzzle in the infill site wedged between the Geelong Ring Road and the Waurn Ponds health and education precinct.

Development surrounding Deakin University’s Waurn Ponds campus has already driven demand for housing in Highton, leading to an increase in development speculation.

“It’s attracted a reasonable amount of interest, particularly external (outside of Geelong) interest,” he said.

“They are seeking opportunities in Geelong because of its growth and its popularity as a lifestyle destination.”

While opposite Christian College senior campus, the site is also close to Waurn Ponds shopping and homemaker centres and schools in Highton.
